Hey just finished a beat (finally) and wanted to hear what you guys thought. Any and all feedback is welcome.

Also, as an aside, do you like the name Spoony J or Sk00tz better as an artist name?

Thanks

Nice, everything sounds good.
Just some of the samples were chopped a little too much, just a little.
When the sample loop's there sound's like a big gap between them.
But over all good stuff keep it up.

Just had another listen, and the snare does sound a lil weak. Was it just the snare or the drums overall?

I listened to the whole beat. No bad. I like the different interludes and what not. Was this track sampled? Vinyl? But like others said, I'm not really a fan of the drums. They just didn't really "knock" for me. But it's a nice attempt. Keep it up.

And not trying to hijack your thread but peep mines...

Thanks for all the input. And even negative shit is appreciated. Just kinda hard to get honest opinions out of friends, y'know? I'll keep workin on it and I'll update it with a newer version when I'm done.

I think it's pretty nice. The only thing is the loop like the others said, and the drums. And yeah, stick with Skootz.

I can picture some 90s dancer dancing to this beat lol. No disrespect thats just the thought of when when you used the drums. But i did picture Lupe Fiasco gunning down the track tho. Is that site free and make your own beats?

Take out the triangle sounding shit. And tweak the loop of the sample as said above.

Yeah this shit sounds mad 90's ish. It's a great attempt though man, sampling is a very complex and in-depth technique. Easy to learn but hard to master. A little EQ to help bring the sample into the light and work on those drums. Drums need to BANG.

Thanks again, I really appreciate everybody helping me out. I'm trying to finish reworking it. Real life is kinda getting in the way lol. I'll repost it and I hope you guys will listen again.

Thanks, I was kinda going for that after I heard that sample the first time. smile

The site is free, but there's no audio software there. You get up to 2 hours of music space, but you can pay for more if you choose to. The question usually comes up, so I'll answer it before anybody asks: I use Cubase SX3 and Reason 4 to make my music.
