In "Forever" Drake says:
"and you city faded off to brown, Nino"

Most of the time in rap when you think "that makes no sense", you just don't comprehend it.
FUCK MY NIGGER DAD
I think thats a common misconception. Lil Wayne always makes sense he just raps in a different way than most so most people don't catch it.
That's what I like about Lil Wayne. You practically need to have a degree in pop culture to get some of his songs. Like his line "When i was 5 my favorite movie was the Gremlins. Aint got shit to do with this but I just thought that I should mention" or "I hit n*ggas in the head like Vonage." He just pulls out shit and throws it in a song.

Fuck Trey Songs
I think Lil' Wayne has a lot of good lines, but to say he always makes sense is an overstatement. I remember when he first dropped that whole "I'm a Martian so give me space" line and everyone went nuts, acting like it was amazing, when it doesn't even mean anything, if you think about it.
He's implying that Martians are from space, but that's just relative to the fact that we're from Earth. Mars isn't any "spacier" than Earth. Both are planets in space. Obviously this doesn't mean the line is nonsensical it just means that its not very clever. Beyond that, its just a lazy line because when have Martians ever asked to be given "space" in a popculture product or other? If there is a specific example he's referring to, then the line is slightly better, but since I'm pretty sure he just wanted to say Martians are from space that's nothing special...
Good punchlines should make sense through and through. That Drake line where he talks about how he "balled(bald)" in the club doesn't make sense under a magnifying glass either. Okay so he balled in the club, and you're bald when you have chemo, He's just saying two things that have something in common... How is that a good line?
In my opinion a good punchline should be like this, "I chop trees to make paper". It works perfectly on both levels.

Drake in "Forever":
"Started off local but thanks to all the haters I know G-4 pilots on an a first name basis"
Is he admitting that he got ran out of his own city?
No he's saying that he started off with a small fan-base and now he's blown up and famous so he flies in G-4s all day.
In "Forever" Drake says:
"and you city faded off to brown, Nino"
and
"if I was at the club you know i ball, Chemo"
can anyone explain what the hell those lines mean?
Hmmm I understood it as him saying that everyone in Toronto hated him, so he had to get the **** out of there
Cause really, when you 'start off local'... the only haters you can have are 'local'
You are probably the biggest fucking idiot in this thread. Rap is all about wordplay. When Lil' Wayne says that he is just making a statement. As in saying "Give me space, I'm far away from you, etc.". Saying "I'm a Martian give me my space" makes sense because Martians are far away or on another planet.
God you're fucking dumb man.
The whole point of using literary devices in lyrics is to make things intricate. It's the idea of saying something in a different way. For example; instead of saying, "I have a lot of money." Lil' Wayne says "I got cake like every day my birthday!" which is a different, clever way of saying it.
Instead of Drake saying "I enjoyed my time at the club." he says "I balled (bald); chemo." Which does make sense on both levels and is a good play on words.
If every rapper "dumbed it down" for idiots like you we wouldn't have good rap music.
Just stick to Taylor Swift or Rascal Flats or something you fucking moron.
