His 1st single wasn't kick push? I mean if he had never dropped that first and dropped something like his earlier stuff which seemed more gangsta?

this thread is stupid and actually, i hated kick push...i wasnt a fan of the song overall and hated that he was rapping about skateboarding since i was a skater at the time and thought he was just using it for fame.

Later on heard his album, realized he was no joke and even to this day skip over kick push.

so what now nucca.

I anticipated his album since early summer of 06; even jacked a promo poster from Virgin mega store. I enjoyed the single, one being the subject content that differentiated himself from other hip-hop at the time. References of robots, cartoons, skateboarding...hell, he made it cool to be a geek.

Honestly, I think Lupe made a smart move releasing Kick, Push as his 1st "breakthrough" single.

He needed something catchy. Compare Kick, Push to Best I Ever Had, Day N Nite, and I Love College.

Nah, real talk I only started listening to Lupe after I heard Kick Push and had only heard his name in passing before then.

Then again, I wouldn't consider myself a Lupe fanboy like most who have posted in this thread, Go check a Lupe fanboard/forum, over there its cool to hate Kick Push and all of his singles. They gotta keep it underground and cool somehow right?

Kick Push is dope! I used to read the hype in The Source then when he dropped he defenitely lived up to it with a strong LP.

Heard his verse on "Touch The Sky". I liked it, so I type his name in limewire and found "Lupe The Killer". Been listening to him ever since.
