i was tellin ma niigga for da last 2 months to fuck with infinite, and believe me, nobodyyyy hates eminem more than this guy sad

i wont pretend like eminem was a better lyricist back then, i wont even say that was his best album (eminem show to me) or my personal favorite (slim shady lp)

i will say that was an underappreciated underground classic, i love the production on it and eminem conveyed pain, inner turmoil and just being flat broke better on this album than he did in any album after

i think all eminem fans and hip hop fans in general owe it to themselves to at least give it a listen, theres good there

Infinite is like the pioneer form of Eminem. Slim Shady EP is my personal favorite.

Nahh... infinite was dope, but his style was borrowed. Nobody else thought he sounded like AZ? When he dropped Slim Shady is when he came into his own, having dope lyrics and being totally distinct from everyone else at that time.

Qft he was still coming into his own even on SSLP. He gradually became a better MC and i think he reached his peak at MMLP/TES. I mean he can still spit like he could back in those days. Infinite was a dope album tho

you can tell that his lyrics were still developing and were somewhat immature back on the infinite album. some of them sounded nice because they rhymed, but made no sense because he didn't link them together.

huh?

Ayo, biters are like tarantulas, vandealous
Living as scandalous as a television evangelist
But I can handle this, I'm the rhyme biter crime fighter
Caped crusader, taking care of undeserving lime lighters
I think a living never meant for me
Experimentally I found a way to spread interamentally
When I stumbled upon this resolution
By using a special fusion of chemical solution for this resolution
You couldn't see me with binoculars
I armed like an octopus
Step on stage and you get socked and pushed
Talking that junk like you went black, guarded your back
Come battle me and you get smacked as hard as you act
When I reperesent it, and we'll have a referee in it
Every minute so when I win it you never resent it
I'm forever demented, come up with funk, I'll never be scented
You got the point when I cleverly sent it

Eminem is one of the few mainstream rappers that have natural talent. But unfortunately, I think his sound has changed post Mathers LP (due to it's success) and he has gotten weak. But his Mariah diss track really brought out his old side.

seriously though...

don't sleep on EMINEM!!

ok i'll admit, Encore was meh and Relapse was a disappointment.

but i haven't given up hope. b/c here's how i see it:

when eminem tries... he's unstoppable. but he's not always trying.

You could tell on Encore that he was barely trying. He was rapping about nonsense and making up words and accents. i feel like that record was him just seeing what he could get away with. "how little can i do and still make a hit record?" i could feel himself getting bored with rap on Encore (and thus why he "retired" after it was released).

but he's started to get that itch again.

Why Relapse was a disappointment: I was expecting Relapse to be the return of Eminem. but it wasn't.

but i feel like Eminem was disappointed with Relapse as well (which is why he went back to make Relapse 2 immediately after Relapse 1 came out). It was kinda like a practice to me. Relapse was more about Eminem getting back into the game. He's like an athlete who sat out a couple of years, then came back. Of course after a few years, you're not gonna be like you were when you were at your peak. its gonna take time to rebuild that swag and energy.

but he's coming back. people saying that he fell off is giving him the motivation to try again. his verse on Forever? he hands down owned the song that featured 3 of the "10 hottest MC's in the game"). its like the real return of eminem is coming out now. ive seen more Eminem (doing stuff in public, shows, tv) since he started working on Relapse 2 than when he released Relapse 1.

its almost like Relapse 2 will be the real return of Eminem (knock in wood).

and that's why i haven't given up hope on him.
