This is a good album, but not a truly great album like the first Blueprint. It has some excellent tracks (Nas should have REALLY been on Empire State of Mind) but some really mediocre and unremarkable ones to go along with it (the Timbaland tracks are simply awful, Swizz Beatz song is missing something). Some songs might grow on me as I listen to them more but as of now I'd give the album a 7.5/10.

And honestly, this is a good album for Jay to retire on, even though I have a feeling he won't.

BP3 is somewhere in the middle of Jay's catalogue but it's defenitely not an average album. Just to name a few ''So Ambitious'' is on some '97 shit, ''A Star Is Born'' knocks like a ma'fucka & ''Empire State Of Mind'' is such a great track...albums dope. cool

I'm also kind of torn in the way that he used the artist.

For instance when I saw, Kid Cudi, Drake etc. being featured on the album a long time ago I realized he was going to use their buzz to help sell even more albums.

But then for those two specifically he only uses them in the hook, nothing more and both I feel could have written a few decent bars.

But at the same time it shows him off more and then he lets Kanye do that shitty song Haters with him. saying lines i swear i heard 5 years ago from him.

Either way it is what it is, the dude should have stayed retired a long time ago.
