I see drake threads all the time in the music forum here. im not into the guy at all. nothing about him attracts me to listen to his music. what is it that you guys see in him? i honestly cant understand why hes got so much hype around him

Drake is the shit, best new rapper out.

Alot of artists come out with catchy songs however they are stupid. Drake makes catchy songs but he is also witty, thats why I fuck with him.

Only songs I really listen to is the rap ones, those one sound really good to me. But shit like thatr houatlantavegastyle or whatever, that just kills it for me. Drake is kinda like a jack of all trades I think at least.

word, i feel the opposite, for me, i like when he switches it up and sings.
'slow it down' has crazy mellow flow. and his 'take you down freestyle' was cool

all in all. to each their own

You can sincerely ask this question about any artist. It really isn't something to get all protective and incoherent about. If someone asked me, "hey, why do you like Cannibal Ox so much?", especially if it were coming from someone who didn't see anything in his music, I would just simply explain to him why. It's not that serious that he's asking...I personally don't see anything in Drake. He's a slightly better Lil Wayne reincarnated.

It wasn't out of nowhere.. He slowly made his way to the top through several mixtapes. He has been putting out mixtapes for a couple years, each one gaining him critical acclaim and more exposure. He didn't pop out of thin air, there were people lined up to sign him for a deal...

I was listening to Drake before he blew up and even then he was kinda meh. A couple of good joints but overall he was okay. The way some people talk about him and stuff make him out to be a god. He's overrated. Doesn't mean he's horrible, it's just that he doesn't really stand out that much from everyone else. He's got a really good hype machine working for him.
