*jacked*

i was wondering why them bars looked so familiar when i first saw the cover this afternoon. then it hit me: U2's last album, No Line on the Horizon.

next we discover that the "white instruments in a white room" concept is from another band's cover, Secret Machines' Now Here is Nowhere.

Yes they work. CLICK ON THEM!
I don't think it's Jays fault. It's the graphics designer that did the album cover & was probably inspired from those two. Jay probably has never even seen those.

I had taken the words out of his mouth and filled it with fart.

^cosign. he probably saw the design out of the mock-ups and thought it was dope, without realizing where the graphic designer got the inspiration.

I'm actually pretty sure he new full well where the inspirations came from and probably insisted on it. Ever since that Glastonbury situation he's been trying to make himself into some sort of rock icon.

He jacked that cover because Oasis got mad at him perfoming at the concert because he was the first rapper to perform at the concert. He comes out siging an oasis songing and mocking rockstars. Jay is a clever dude.... sending a message.

lol at "biting" the U2 album cover. because there are two bars centered in the square? borrowed inspiration or influence is not the same as biting. there is clear evidence of a borrowed element or concept but I don't know if I'd call it straight a straight up bite.

either way the artwork is really nice, and resonates.

I like it.

Plus...Sean Carter closely resembles a camel. This is an improvement so we dont have to see his camely face.

this was already said before, but i'd like to expand on it. Rap album covers now a days might as well be all made by the same dude because they're exactly the same. for example (and this is not even looking very hard, just random album names off the top of my head)

raw pose in front of "home city" with generic font that i could probably photoshop in a couple minutes, how many albums do you see like this, HONESTLY

i was gonna post a bunch, but its redundant. point being, most all album covers are boring to me, this jay album cover is average anyway, but at least he's not on it for once (lol at camel comparison)

Wow we might as well call him a poser for rapping because he obviously copped that steez from biggie. Honestly who cares? (besides you and a select few)
