hypem's a good resource but it's a streaming website, although the blogs it's connected to often have download links (but usually just a track or so from the artist).

Radiobutt.blogspot.com is prolly my fav blog for indie releases. They have a lot of the newer, more notable indie releases and they throw in older releases as well. They've got a lot of good stuff up there (not sure if it's still there but they had Animal Collective's whole discography at one point) . Otherwise I just google blogs looking for stuff or I use bit torrent to dl music (btjunkie.com is a great resource).

Nice site!

Also, this thread can be for experimental bands, too.

www.filestube.com

99% of the time there's a download link for an album .rar/.zip on Rapidshare/4shared/etc.

Newer Stuff I've been digging lately:
Grizzly Bear
Animal Collective
Deerhunter
Good Old War

The Classics:
Radiohead
Elliott Smith
Pavement
The Flaming Lips
Neutral Milk Hotel

Excellent selection. I'd also put in the Pixies.

Imma go see him at Street Scene in August and oh man, I cant wait!
My friend saw him at Coachella and told me he puts on a nice show and that Binky Shapiro and Rodrigo Amarante were with him and they played Little Joy songs, which is kinda messed up cause they left out Fabrizio! haha

I think people have become too liberal with the indie genre, just saw all time low on indie spotlight on itunes...
