id have a look for anything at common projects, i bought some (kinda expensive) shoes that look slightly like vans but are literally the most incredible quality...amazing leather and suede. They also do some sick desert boots etc, they take street silhouettes and make them so luxury. Take a look:

Vintage UK-made Clarks. Find them, buy them, you'll have no regrets. I have DBs and Wallies that are over 20 years old that, well, they're still around. New Viet-made DBs barely lasted one season. Probably get 3-4 pairs for $300, more like 10 pairs if you could find them in thrift stores.
