I have had Dr. Martens for 12 years now - the same pair - I can't remember how much they were - over $100 for sure, but they certainly have been worth it. I also find that it depends on the socks you wear with your shoes. I've always been very successful in using Soxo socks - but I think you can only find them in Poland.
