When i started out my sneaker collection I bought a lot of the Gold box sneakers and after noticing quality is much better than quantity I regretted spending close to $500-$600.

Just spent 190 (shipped) on Jordan 14s... Can't wait to play in them! They are replacing my old 14s which have lasted me 3 years (i cycle between 3 pairs of 14s to prolong their lifetimes).

Best basketball shoe I have ever found for me personally... though it's getting harder and harder to find authentic ones... and pricier. My last three I got at footlocker for 150 before tax. 190 was from solestop.com (which i found through hypebeast)
