I always thought Vans were just cheap and stylish. At some places you could find them for around $10. They are easy to just slip into as well.

Used to get this little canvas vans authentics looking things from walmart- 3.50 had like 4 or 5 colors but they discontinued em, atleast where I'm from. Check your walmart though the brands called whitestag

I would say a nice pair of vans authentics would fit the bill. Lots of nice colourways to match your wardrobe. $50 should do the trick.
