For shorts No sock just doesn't look that great. For Jeans and Pants you can do socks or no socks works either way. I've done no socks because they feel great and no sweat in them like I do in sneakers.
they look stupid with socks, so if you don't wanna stink up your boat shoes then get socks that only go around the bottom of your feet, they have them at nike stores
