It was your first Rolex? . Rolex is more than just a luxury watch, pass it on to your kid in the future or something. Keep it.

Aside from any personal values. GMTII ceramic is very nice, but I think your sub will last longer and the dial is more subtle (good for any occasion).

I'm thinking about buying a watch for my 18th birthday (which was 2 weeks ago actually) but I'm very (very) skinny and a lot of watches look like trash on my hand. Any brand suggestion?

Well my wrists are skinny as hell so a watch with a big dial would be ugly as fuck, I've already tried watches with dial bigger than my wrist... Yeah I'm really skinny (I have a form of arachnodactyly, google it if you want)
Well I already have a Casio Databank and a G shock but I'm willing for something more.. dressed up. Not Rolex or anything expensive of course (I'm just a biology student) but I like watches like the one shakintheD posted earlier. I think i'll just go to some jewelers and see what looks good

I actually went with ebay. What I like about ebay is... shipping is usually USPS priority, so everything comes fast and cheap. I got one for $27-29 shipped. It's good quality and made in Germany.

Lots of cheap homages out there. I personally have an Invicta. For the cheaper ones try Invicta, Croton, Seiko, Orient, MQJ, Parnis.

Actually I paid $25 and it was shipped free.

I don't mean to flame, but Invicta is crap. Lots of negative feedback and I think they have an F rating by the BBB. The negative ratings is due to poorly made watches, lack of quality control and terrible customer service.

Best homages are Steinhart and Debaufre. Expect to pay $560ish shipped and after paying duties on a Steinhart Ocean-1. It's $600+ for the Debaufre Ocean-1. And since UnaFashionista has humongous wrists, he's in luck since these come in 42mm and if he can find a preowned magnum... 44mm. Rolex submariners are under 42mm. By the way, are you a chick or dude UnaFashionista??? Your name throws me off.

No, it was just a mistake. I paid $25 shipped. It's a really nice quality nato strap. It has sewn in rings rather than glued (which you have to look out for). The nylon is thick, but not super thick as advertised, but it's perfect for me. Make sure you know your lug width before you order. They range from 18-24mm I believe. Also youtube nato straps to learn how to put one on.
