Z I;3075024']I pulled the trigger on this one earlier today. I don't care what the consensus is on this brand is. It's a lot of watch for your money. Photography is an expensive hobby, so I'll save the Rollie for when I'm older.

Looks great and as you say, it's great value for money.

Make sure you take some wrist shot and post them here when you get it.

Well, it's not like an exact copy; there are very subtle differences. I kind of like the case design better than the Rolex, but I wish the Steinhart had a tapering bracelet like the Rolex. Anyways, I'll put a full review and pics when I get it. I got a confirmation email a few hours ago that my order will be processed. Also, Deadpool, do you have a nato strap? I kind of want a special one, not a generic or similarly manufactured strap from ebay. I like the one by wotancraft under the X Flottiglia Mas Series, but it was made for a Pam and it's sold out.

I'm in the midst of a longgg watch search. I really want to make the investment on something I'll have forever.
I would really like to get a rolex or something comparable
- really like the look of the submariner

SO, any suggestions? how much could I expect to pay for a submariner, 4k+?

Anyways, I got tracking from Fedex and it said they picked up my watch today at 11:30am in Germany and it is expected to be delivered tomorrow. That's freakin' fast, but it should be if you're paying 30 euros. Plus, if my watch has problems and I need to ship my watch out for repair during the 2 yr warranty period, it's free. Steinhart gives you their account number; you use it to print out a shipping label and Fedex picks it up. Best customer service I ever had for anything.

Their customer service has been a bit inconsistent lately according to some forums. Some people realized it was a 3-day weekend because of a coinciding holiday in Germany. Other times they said it's because their volume of customers/prospective customers are growing and keeping up has become a challenge. Debaufre is also receiving the same complaint's as well. Some blame the new ownership. Apparently, the original owner who was a co-owner of Steinhart and later changed Steinharts US division into Debaufre due to trademark law, sold his business. I think Debaufre is slightly crumbling and Steinhart fell off track for a bit, but business will continue to grow. If someone was debating between the two, I'd highly recommend Steinhart.

Some quick pics.

I love the new GMT bezel. Steinhart now uses a font similar to the new Rolex GMT Master II. Case back, front case, bracelet, were all wrapped with a transparent sticker. They were all in a nice box with some croc looking square at the top of the box's exterior. Watch was wrapped around a pillow with instruction/warranty booklet and tool included. Bracelet was easy to adjust. My homie had push in pins connecting his links on his Ocean-1. Mine are all screw in links, so a jewelers screw driver will do. I'm really happy with the watch and I might get the DLC Ocean-1 next. Also... German-made nato strap is on the way. Super thick G10 in solid black with satin stainless steel hardware. white gold meteorite dial. i don't really give a fuck about the white gold, i just want the dial. as far as i know, rolex never released one with standard stainless steel.
