i rarely buy bape...theyre hit or miss...i like the shark hoody for example...but that overly colorful shit they often put out makes you look like a roll of sweet tarts

Ive been up on Bape since late 2000, but i was never really into their stuff, i could never get over the fact their kicks looked like knock off AF1's, and I never thought they would blow up the way they did.

around 2003, when my friend from Taiwan showed me one of his japanese magazine that only features kicks. i was really into dunks and air force then realized WTH are these??? with crazy bright fancy colors with patent. i asked him what it was and he told me it was called "BAPE." he was already into street fashion even before moving to US. never really into street fashion then and didnt know shit about japanese street fashions. even since then i often browse through internet about it

Summer of 2005. I remember that shit perfectly. First and only pair of bapes I copped were the Aomori 1st series grey mint stas. Had to wait in line for like an hour because the 1st Marvel series released the same day.
