These TH Argh V-Neck ones are available on DG, kinda pricey for a plain ass Mervyn's sweater though & yeah they make U look like a Grandpa.

Argyles are everywhere.

They're mostly in the fall-winter lines of stores like GAP, Banana Republic, H&M, etc.
