Slacks. Nice shirts. Sweaters/Cardigans. Solid ties or simple patterns like stripes or polka dots. I like the simplicity of oxford dress shoes. Wingtips if you want to be a little flashy. Or even designer hi-top sneakers if you're feeling frisky. Matching belt of course. If you really want to accentuate use cuff links, patterned tie, or a really cool belt. Minimalist colors. But, most important of all is how it all fits. Tailor your stuff if you must.

can buisness casual be a pair of jeans dress shirt mixed in with some dress shoes??

the boss/manager who told me about my orientation told me no jeans. so no jeans for business casual
March 03, 2008 @ 15:14:13
jeans = casual fridays

business casual is usually:

slacks
button down/polo (depending on weather)
belt
dress shoes (oxfords or loafers)

Occasionaly, more-conservative companies (typically medical or banking industries) will want you to wear a tie with your button-down, and possibly a jacket as well. So, roll up a tie in your pocket just in case (don't fold it up or it will crease). A blazer in the wintertime isn't a bad idea bc if they don't wear suits, then you'll look like you were just trying to keep warm rather than overdress.

Chucks, vans, vivisms, etc are bad for a first impression, but you know the company culture better than we do so tassle away...

Good luck.

Looking pretty spiffy. Not bad.

Have that tie handy for rough spots, though.

Can anyone recommend a good pair of casual dress shoes or loafers? Nothing patent leather or anything too flashy. Pictures and links are much appreciated.
March 03, 2008 @ 22:29:15
def a nice suit. probably a little dressy for business casual with the pocket square. that'd be good for a dinner party/event. But, you can always get away with being more dressy better than you can underdressing.

thank you thank you can anbody tell whats the make by cut and style? (dont low ball me fellas i dropped stacks)
March 04, 2008 @ 12:43:13
If you're saying that you don't wear slim jeans then I would definitely say grab the mids. The higher body of the shoe will keep your jeans from really draping all over your foot. I alway hate the look of when I see people wearing straight leg jeans with a Chuck Taylor low or whatever. Also, with the patent leather CPs, I find that the low models look overly plastic-y and toyish. I like the lows, but just not with that patent.
March 04, 2008 @ 14:18:12
you don't know that but you dropped stacks on it? that makes sense...

been to three proms and when I wanted stand out it was all about the little things. like for my senior prom, went all black except for the white tie. also got a hair cut which was at least different for me at the time (had shaggy hair). none of that zoot suit or penguin/waiter tuxedo's, too outlandish and i bet you're gonna see another cat with the same shit on trying to stand out too.

in all honesty though let the girl stand out..and if she isn't your gf you should be formulating a different kind of gameplan ya dig.
March 05, 2008 @ 10:11:15
Go stark bollock naked that will make you stand out
March 05, 2008 @ 12:31:50
well i wear my jeans over my shoes anyways....... not "DRAPING" i dont wear baggy ass jeans but i dont like rocking my tongue out..... at alll......... but anyways your cool westside....smokeyface
March 05, 2008 @ 14:50:40
i said the mids are better for a couple reasons. one is that they look better when you're wearing shorts because they're more substantial. second is that they have more support than lows (which you may or may not care about). three is that they look good with pretty much any style of jeans except extremely skinny ones, in which case you probably shouldnt even consider a mid shoe. there are more but i think i made my case.

Number one...... mids never look better with shorts on, Two I understand that they have more support but I wear my jeans over my shoes, never liked chuck taylor hi-tops because the the ankle part bothers me, which are equivalent to these mids, Three yes they look good with any style of jeans but so do the lows except for like SUPER bootcut jeans........What im saying is if i "Drape" which is in my opinion such a dramatic word to say i wear my jeans over my shoes, does it really matter if i get lows or mids, i dont think it does so why pay the extra 40 -50 dollars for mids if its going to look the same as the lows when wearing my jeans over them...... either way the jeans are going to go over the shoes if they are straight leg and not tapered jeans.......
March 05, 2008 @ 15:28:42
ahhh busted lol i kno i love the way that shit fits on my chest bu the sleeves are a half inch too long
March 05, 2008 @ 17:10:16
oh well, the 1/4inch thing is super tough to achieve. I had mine done at Nordstroms when I bought it and it still didn't quite get there. But, I'm too lazy to do it again...
