if I was rich, I would buy this peice Maharishi just dropped in their A/W collection:

or go here for more detailed pics of the embroidery: http://www.emaharishi.com/productdisplay.php?item=304

Conversion rate is GBP 585 = $1,176.30, and with shipping from the UK that would be a cool $1,200. On a hoodie. Crazy!

I have three of their hoodies and two jackets and wearing their shit is definitely a luxurious experience, and that hoodie is pretty fresh, especially when you peep the details...but damn! You could buy a beat up old car for $1,200!

Nah when it comes to quality of construction and attention to detail, Maharishi is unparalleled. Even if it's not your thing, I wouldn't call it 'crap' -

but yeah, 1200 is too much to spend on any garment, let alone a hoodie. Even that CP Stone Island company from the UK that makes jackets with built in gas masks don't go for that much...

It's definitely not outrageous by Maharishi standards. Last season they had a tee for $400 (now THAT's a little ridiculous)

I will probably end up getting it eventually if it doesn't sell out first.

to PAVED - to each his own. If you're into something like 10 Deep then this probably won't be your cup of tea, but it's high quality, sophisticated, and comfortable so I rock their shit

$1200 for that fucking hoodie? If a piece of clothing is more expensive than an original Hokusai woodblock print of which it's based from, something's wrong. I'd rather have a piece of art (woodblock..which I have) than that MHI.

Whoever is selling it? That's RETAIL my dude, not re-sell. So it's Maharishi themselves selling it. They have a whole series of Hokusai stuff this season (pants too) so my guess is that part of the price tag goes towards paying for the use of Hokusai's art? Maharishi is pricy but normally not quite that pricy

I have a pair of Hokusai jeans (monarchy) and the detailing is just as sick as this plus they were "only" 2 hundred. So I dont know.... Reguardless are you copping Maharishi off the site or what?

yeah the site is the only place I can find it. Reed Space on Orchard St. has MHI but not Maharishi. I was talking to Geo from Reed Space and he said they stock Maharishi sometimes, and my dude Laurent who works at Maharishi said Reed Space is their NYC retailer, but I've never actually seen a real Maharishi piece there so I don't know. I have five or six pieces and I've gotten them all at the site (usually after saving up for a couple weeks)
