Curls' shit is dope. And no you couldn't make one of those hoodies for three bills, the quality of the materials he uses is super expensive. Mos Def bought the one they had on at nom and wore it inside out.

i know the quality of the hoodies. until everyone on this board understands the laws of retail pricing i dont think they should be saying anything. the materials to produce that hoodie would not cost more than 300. MAX. including the fur. even if the fur was chinchilla it shouldnt cost more than 100 bucks to fill the hood with it. whats in that hood is more likely to be rabbit or some other lesser fur which in that case would be like 40 to cover it. the cotton terry, at most wouldnt be more than 15 bucks a yard, printed. to put that in perspective, normal terry can be found for under 5 bucks a yard for good quality. im giving them the benefit of the doubt. factor about 3...hell 4 yards if its a large hoodie thats 60 bucks. that chain is at most, plated silver. if that shit was solid gold it would cost way too much for curls to sell them at under a G to the retailers...which they do. couldnt cost you more than 80-100 for the chain and custom zipper pull. if it did youre getting ripped off. Getting it sewn would be between 30 and 50 bucks depending on the person who sewed it. they probably did it inhouse. so lets add this up per hoodie:

100 for the fur (more than likely 40)
60 for the fabric and printing
80-100 for the chain, zipper pull and zipper along with any misc. buttons or snaps.
30-50 to sew it together

thats 270 - 310 cost and it could be (and probably was) made for cheaper and most people wouldnt know the difference. If the fur is indeed rabbit or something similar, the price would be 230-270 cost. using the higher cost price, they would probably wholesale it to a store for a little bit above double, so say 800. the store would obviously be a luxury goods store, so they would up it similarly 1800 from 800 is not that big of a markup in the couture world, which this company belongs. im not knocking the brand, its fresh, and the retail price IS justified. All im saying is if you wanted to make something of that quality, you could, and at a fraction of the price, you just have to have a little knowhow. and DONT call me dukes unless you know what youre talking about playboy.

My sister works for Valentino, and spent years as a buyer for Nordstrom's, and I gotta say, you're numbers are completely wrong.

Even though I would NEVER pay that much for a hoody, I could see it being close to the quoted price, based on the pictures on the site.

At the MOSt, this guy is making a $100 profit if he's charging between $1700 and $1900, depending on the furs used.

i would have to agree with razor couture things are usually at least 3x more expensive than the cost to make

prove me wrong icon. all the materials those hoodies are made out of you could aquire for those prices. and hes selling them (as stated above) at nom de geurre for 1800 bucks. that fur looks like rabbit which is cheap. so explain to me how they are costing him 1700 and making 100 dollars profit when thats how much they are selling for at a retail level. if his COST (what it costs to construct the item) is 1600 bucks, then EVEN if he was only gonna make 100 bucks on it, then any store that would carry it would have to charge 4g's for it. so, no im not off, you are.

and as belladonna said, couture is WAY overpriced when compared to construction costs.

At the MOSt, this guy is making a $100 profit if he's charging between $1700 and $1900, depending on the furs used.

if hes spending 1600 bucks to make 100, i doubt hed bother doing it. its not like hes a car dealership selling accessories and addons to recoup profit.

that doesnt look like rabbit fur. its not pieced together in little bits. but if it was rabbit fur, it would be mad cheap. i've never seen the hoodies in person but the material used looks expensive. if so, he only makes 200 max off a hoodie. if that.

Oye people.... Dude is making MORe than 10% on these hoodies.
Its plain silly to make as tiny a profit as that, and even less if it has tog o through a store. What exactly can you tell about the quality through some photos.

when i went to the website, i heard they customize it to fit your body and the materials you want.
i am sure you can just choose cheaper yet high quality fur instead of the kind that runs you $50000+
