How Did You Get Into Streetwear?

When I was a kid I skated and used to wear Fuct, Alien Workshop, Vans, DC and whatever else was around then. When I stopped skating I started getting into the Karl Kani, etc. shit then I moved to Japan for school and discovered Bape and some others. I guess it's natural progression although I get the douche-chills when I think of the big baggy jeans phase.

i always wanted to dress fancier and flashy,
fitteds with matching shoes and what not.
Didn't have the money at the time, but then my neighbor started getting into it and kinda made me have the urge more then ever to buy more exclusive stuff.
Ever since i've had $ my closets been having less and less room.

lol fail

I was into the basketball scene from a young age, everything from the jerseys to the kicks. One day my grade 12 art teacher noticed that I had a lot of different kicks, and asked if I had ever been to Goodfoot before (local boutique). There, I was introduced to the whole culture. Numerous trips to Hong Kong also helped open my eyes up to a lot more streetwear brands and styles.

A single shoe:
The 30th anniversary Star Wars Adidas Superstar.

I was a huge star wars fan, and after buying the superstar I started looking into sneakers. Bought a few pair, got into clothes. And now I am pretty much obsessed with sneakers, clothes and fashion in general.

It is actually quite funny to see how much my style has evolved in just over a year tongueface Cant wait to see what happens with my style in the future.

I saw Jay-Z wearing a bape jacket in the interview he did with Nas when he signed him and googled bape. A lot of my friends wore diamond too and i started buying diamond and when the diamond store opened on fairfax i found the hundreds and the other stuff on that street.

i always hated malls because everyone would practically have the same shit. i would always like the "exclusiveness" of things. when i started skating i would flip through the catalog in the early days of CCS i would buy shirts from there because they had different shirts. i would also shop phone order in the early days of Eastbay to get something a little different.

then this place opened up called FTK where i live and they had different shit so then i just got introduced to alot of different brands. FTKs inventory is weak compared to other sites though.

eventually it led to me looking online to know more about these brands, i saw at the store, then i started getting frustrated when things would get sold out so i started searching lookbooks to get a headstart on things (found a few sites which i still stick to this day), one thing led to another, stumbled across hypebeast and a few years back made an account and what not.

but yah that is how it got started for me.

being into sneakers led to being into streetwear. now it seems like both cultures are almost the same. i dont see any streetwear heads that dont love their sneakers just as much.

the thing was, when i was finished writing it i had copied it all (just in case it made me log back in), so i go to hit submit and what does it do, it said i wasn't logged in, so luckily i copied it so i had to re-log in and i must have pasted it twice.

I type the way i do because it's the correct way..not like "Take Me To The Mall Today" for example. It's basic grammar.
