I've tried both AA and uniqlo crewneck tees and they are pretty identical quality wise. Fit wise uniqlo has a really slim kind of a sleeve opening or sleeve width, whereas AA has a very generic fit much like e.g. Undefeated, Preme. Uniqlo being a japanese company their sizing might be slighty small so I would advice you to size up by one to two sizes just in case for a roomier fit.

American apparel is the best choice! but there is actually an alternative apparel store that supplies good quality and affordable products. Try apparelus.com

Uniqlo fits are nice. a little bit wider neck and smaller arms. Size up one.
