Hi Guys,

Just at my desk at work bored to tears,was just wondering something:

Who would consider buying anything from a brand where like 80% of the stuff was NOT available online and you had to buy it through a V small handful of stores?

So the stuff would be super exclusive but also maybe a pain in the ass to obtain (travelling etc or having to get relatives to cop it for you

I suppose,but I was thinking more like smaller brands that someone will have to work hard for to obtain/even find out about.

Supreme is like the first thing that comes up under "general discussions".

Just interesting to understand people motivations etc.

Well in that case i guess you would be speaking about a very popular indie brand that has no stores or no online stores, seems like a steep cliff to jump from. But if a brand was so well organize and secretly successful that they wouldn't need a store i suppose they could go that route but i cant think of a brand that has that ability. lol But on the other hand, after my reasoning...would i hear about it?
Oh and i don't think smaller brands could do this without being on forums and having a strong street team to even come close to being able to do this.

Yeah true. Just brainstorming really,thinking about how things were done like back in the day. Feels like people are are unable to think or function without the internet.

Was just saying in another discussion,how different (possibly more interesting) my wardrobe would look if i didnt buy anythig online and had to rely on the old fashioned way of going to a boutique and chatting to the shop owner,going to gigs etc.

local skate shops sell small company products, there is a company around my area that sells them there and everything is only produced one time around, it's worn around my school, it's exclusive to an extent that it's only around Southern Florida.

Moreover, I've gotten mad when they have sold out, something about small organizations and their super cheap sweatshirts that keep me lurking.

Fashion/Clothing/Streetwear , whatever is such a weird world. Just visited a printers last week and they print stuff for high schools and tee's that sell for £120 in Harrods, London....what i'm trying to get to the bottom of is what drives people to pay so much and work so hard to seek out these brands.

their clothes are just plain which i like imo but the price for a backpack $800-1000 is fuckin out of pocket

Yeah true, when you look back at a lot of brands in the past "streetwear" or not. They all seemed to start at the "grass roots", selling at gigs, festivals etc etc.
