It fucks up your tees because you're putting the hanger in from the top and therefore stretching it, if you put the hanger in from the bottom it won't stretch.

I hang my tee's via putting in the hangar from the bottom.

Tops that are susceptible to moths get folded & put in my cedar trunk.
Denim is either hung or folded once in the middle.
