So before college starts in the fall I wanna cop a bunch of cheap button ups. Like oxfords, plaid shirts, etc. Thinkin I'm gonna most likely gonna pick up a few from h&m or old navy to last me the season. What're your thoughts on comparing the two, essentially price vs quality vs fit (btw I know qualities prov not great, but just lookin for somethin cheap and decent)

Word of advice, dont buy button-ups from HM. They're thinner than paper and sleeves will wrinkle like a bitch after you machine wash em.

Go for Old Navy, Banana republic, Gap, or j.crew anywhere actually. Just make sure it fits and can handle machine wash.

H&M defiantly has a better selection of button up shirts than old navy. I go to h&m all the time for button ups and wash them and they end up fine. if they wrinkle thats what the irons for.

J. Crew isn't priced too bad, and quality is nice. Uniq does phone orders though. I'd go with J. Crew imo

I'd cop old navy over h&m. old navy's oxfords are pretty nice and thick. their other button ups are average and will last longer than h&M. h&m are like disposable clothes IMO

H&M is good, but UNIQLO honestly if you can reach one, is the best.

for a college student, just stick to what's available. h&m is coo. but I'd recommend thrift stores like Crossroads or Buffalo Exchange, whatever you have in your area. They're always stocked with button downs for cheap.

You'll find a few goodies at Old Navy, but you're better off at H&M as far as selection goes. Hit up thrift stores as well.

Did you check out Zara? Zara's quality is easily much better than H&M and are basically the same time, the time to cop them is when they start a clearance sale, at christmas there they really made some serious slashes to their prices.

avoid h&m + old navy and upgrade to uniqlo + jcrew. You'll be glad you did. More durable and they are relatively AS cheap. Sometimes Jcrew would offer sale/discounts.

You can also try Club Monaco. I buy majority of my button-ups there. The prices are a bit expensive which is why I normally wait until they have a 30-40% off sale. They do offer a 20% student discount for on all regular priced items in store.

I just picked up this oxford shirt yesterday!

These two are pretty solid too. I might go back and get them at another time when the price goes down.

Old Navys quality surprisingly lasts longer than H&M's. H&M shirts are TOO flimsy & can get damaged pretty quickly. J.Crew's great for the price too.

I would totally go for H&M. Neither is going to last forever, or have the fit of a $200 shirt, but H&M has a better selection and the fit will probably be a little better.
