Herschel Supply Co. vs Jansport Backpacks

March 07, 2012 @ 07:17:29
Hi guys, I bought a herchel pop quiz bag from karmaloop too and had it shipped to Australia. I used it for just one day and the bottom started to rip already - so much for a reinforced bottom... Should I be following this up with karmaloop or with Herschel directly with the warranty?

i love my jansport... had it for 4 years and still holds up strong.

I got the black little america from flatspot a while ago and quality is nice. Using it mainly for traveling.

every high school kid down here in new zealand wears jansport, and all the uni students wear herschel sc. it's sad how played out both brands are.

I would definately recommend hiking brand day packs. I've had my Macpac Litealp for 5 years this month and it shows absolutely no signs wear at all. It sits nicely, without sticking out and looking boxy and also doesnt slouch like my jansport bags used to. after easily unstitching the branded panel at the front it just seems like a plain black backpack, but has the quality of a hiking pack.

If we really want to argue about quality, I would take Jansport over Herschel any day.
I have had the same Jansport backpack (the standard one that everyone has) since 3rd grade and I still use it on occasion and its in great condition for the years its been through. I also bought the Huf x Jansport a couple months ago and love everything about it,
As far as Herschel, I bought the Heritage pack in the beginning of last year and it didn't even last until the end of the year. I use all my bags for hiking and all that outdoors stuff and Jansports hold up way better because they are meant for that type of use rather than a Herschel which looks like thats what its designed for but rather couldn't stand a chance against companies with more History.

Speaking of comfort, I do believe Herschel is better. The most important part about Herschel is the quality and durability, I used to carry my books and my laptop in my backpack and it was still comfortable and looks far better than a Jansport, in my opinion.

So far I haven't had any problems with my Herschel, I find it way more comfortable than Jansport. However I do know that Jansport will last you a long time. I rocked a Jansport all throughout high school and it still is in good condition.

Anyone cop the Little America? Thinking about copping but the price is a little too much but idk. Aren't the straps annoying to button everytime?
June 05, 2012 @ 06:24:27
Choose hersehel

Choose hersehel

Nah they're shitty quality. This is obviously superior.

hop on the bus gus

not herschel or jansport but I just copped this. hopefully it's big enough for my books and stuff. anyone have experience with fjallraven?
June 24, 2012 @ 13:58:23
i used my herschell about 5 times before the leather gets all soft and strap breaks. New herschel seems better in quality tho
June 24, 2012 @ 19:09:33
herschel is absolute shit quality. jansport no doubt.

I've got a settlement I use on the daily, and I've it for about a month and have had no problems with it. I might get the kith collabo of it.

^^^ that's super nice.

people should post pics of them wearing their bag, I find that to be helpful, because some, like jansport have an ugly sag look to them when people wear them, but it depends on how you put your books or whatever in the bag.

my herschel ripped after about 4 months of use but it was probably because i jammed it full with three heavy text books everyday but whatever. got it fixed and have had no problems since.

Herschel stuff on sale here: http://shop.abcdenim.com/products?page=1

Little Americas sold out quickly... not surprised.
You can still get some of the classics though: Heritage, Pop Quiz, Survey, Ravine and Novel duffels.
Raw denim cheap if you into that too.

Herschel is very sturdy but the price is about 69$ double the jansport so do the math. Double up on a jansport = new style and hand stitch the two jansports together for a very nice backpack get a dark outside and a bright inside for a pop.

Based god lemme fuck your bitch

I've had a navy/brown leather Herschel Village backpack for over a year, used it for school daily and it still looks brand new. I'd say their quality is pretty damn good.

i want to pick the herschel because of the overall nice review and jansport is over too mainstream in my school
but jansport has the lifetime guarantee, does herschel have guarantee just like jansport?
because in my country there is no herschel official store
and where i can buy the good herschel? because i read if i bought from karmaloop it will broke easily...
