Yaaawh, me and some friends are starting a streetwear brand called Overdeauxis. We've got a design for our first varsity jacket,we would appreciate it if u would drop some knowledge on us, good or bad off course!

Floral is just trending right now so that won't be relevant at all in a couple years. In my opinion you want to try to make something that is timeless and/or something that you know you will like for a long time.
Also, I think the logo looks cool but please explain the noose because I honestly would feel like shit wearing that on me.

The noose lies within the concept of Overdeauxis:Overdose and Death in general. There will be written "Devil's Breath" on the back of the varsity. It refers to the flower on the sleeves, cuz the flower (Angel Trumpets) is the base of a drug called Burundanga or Devil's Breath.

Bless

Damn. Thats actually a really cool explanation behind the jacket. I kinda dig it now!

Hey guys! After a year or so of a whole lot of research, planning, designing and headaches, we finally launched our first Spring 2012 collection in our online store. Just wanted to officially get the Project XXIV name out here in the Hypebeast forums because many of you have been such a source of knowledge and inspiration for me. If you have a few minutes, stop by www.projectxxiv.com and hit me up with some feedback. We've only been open for a little over a month, so it's a big time for the brand as we continue to get the name out and grow into our future collections. We have some big projects lined up so we hope some of you will stay tuned. Completely open to any feedback you guys could offer! I'm a newcomer to posting in the forums, but definitely looking forward to being part of the Hypebeast community. Thanks!

the tees and hoodies should be at the top with the beanies on the bottom.

So true. Just updated it. Appreciate the feedback man. It's amazing how such simple things get overlooked when trying to focus on the big picture. Would appreciate any other thoughts on the site/ brand. Thanks guys!

New line of crewneks and a long sleeve shirt from Overdeauxis. appreciate some criticism
from y'all before were goin into production.

Personally not a fan. In my opinion, plastering things to do with liquor and weed consumption on t-shirts, unless done in a tasteful manner, just asks for negative attention and speaks immaturity. But yo, do your thing.

Peace

i agree. i strongly dislike any apparel brands related to smoking weed/ alcohol. super low and unoriginal

From a personal standpoint, I only really like your olympic tee. I feel as though your graphics are directed at a younger 13-18 year old range consdering the cartoonish aesthetic of it. Also instead of your slogan being "PACK, everybody needs one" I think you need to think out your brand concept a little deeper and give it more meaning. Sure you might sell a couple t-shirts to your friends, but what is going to make your brand attractive to potential outside customers. People are suckers for substance. Feed them

Good luck my dude.

Big ups to a lot of people in here, keeps me motivated. I know the whole sneaker t-shirt things is not everyone's thing, and to be honest its not where i want to take The Great N Gifted, these are just practice. Someone mentioned to work on my spacing, complimentary fonts, etc.. and that's what I'm doing. In general just learning as much as i can. Also, i notice when i save things as PDF the colors don't always seem right, on my iPhone, and my computer screen, any help, processes, tips,? as you can see the files aren't as vivid and clear.
Thanks
P.S. Tear it up and Critique away!

Setting up my Fall Line. Working along the lines of Broken Bank University. With the theme " Learn from the best takers"
Came up with it because Colleges and Universities are the best at taking money legally other then banks.

And this is the mascot I came up with.

What do you think?
working on a seal and some other School related designs. Letterman Jackets etc.
Should be pretty fun

if that'll be the final quality of the graphic - it looks bad.
I like the overall posing of the mascot but not the mascot's design.
ill colorway though.

Wow...thats gota be a very long list of established brands that you strongly dislike....almost all of them have dropped a design at one point that is related to weed/alcohol/drugs.....

in regards to the design...you can rework the fonts...maybe draw them and give them some character....

in regards to the subject.....im not a 'blunts and bottles person' but lets not pretend that everyone is all of sudden offended and shit. brands drop these 4/20 shirts and sneakers, all kinds of tees related to drugs/sex/ and all kinds of other shit.

in regards to content...drugs and alcohol related tees don't seem to be a problem at all in streetwear.

i dont see why you always relate stuff to the big brands.. it's a personal preference, and just because other brands do it doesn't mean you should follow in their shadow. diamond is based off of weed, they have some designs relating to it but it's not based off it, neither is hall of fame. it's alot different, and again just cause other brands do it, you shouldn't follow in their shadow

This is the way I see it. There are thousands of brands trying to make a name for themselves. How can you possibly stand out if your a shadow of other established brands.

no this is just a sample. I have it in vector and was playing around with the colors in PS because I haven't learned yet in AI how to. But no the lines are not jagged and messed up like that. That's a tracing that I colored on the computer

im diddnt post those tees to imply that we should all make weed and drink tees.....or to say that these brands are only about weed and drink....

Subject matter is not exclusive!

content is not exclusive!

for example....If you decide to make a tee about weed...are you in the shadow of Huf? if that's the case, then all brands are in each others shadow..because they all use similar subject matter, content and references! ( design execution and creativity will vary)

but in the end......the consumer doesn't make a big deal about it. the stores don't make a big deal about it.....the brands don't make a big deal about it.

do you see these brands/stores saying " oh shit...huf made a weed related tee...let's pull ours off the shelf'......there cant be any more weed related tees in streetwear ever now, in fear that someone may say that we are living in the shadow of HUF" ?

the things that you guys try to make significant....really isn't.

i was never talking about weed related tees, i was talking about brands based off of weed and alcohol.
and like i said, 'I' don't like them, it's my opinion.
You just always comment saying "it's been done many times in streetwear/ all the other streetwear brands do it/etc - like you just did now. It seems like everything you try to justify is what people should refrain from doing.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'design and execution and creativity will vary', but i'm pretty sure if that's different then the design as a whole is different, just a similar concept. Nothing wrong with that, but some people don't make it vary so thats when the fall in their shadow.

Hey guys I'm starting this new brand called Visual Oddity. Here are some recent designs. Let me know what you think, honest advice appreciated! good or bad!
Thanks!

I think the last 3 shirts are the best. Fairly unique. Although I'm not sure it'll have much mass crowd appeal if that's what you're aiming for.
The 2nd one needs to go though. I feel like i've seen brands redo the Dodgers logo "in their own creative way" about a million too many times...

i agree. Who is going to wear/buy this stuff and why? I don't mean that sarcastically, I just don't see a cohesive image or discernible target demographic that this is meant for.

no...what im saying is that....just because YOU dont like it, doesnt justify that people should refrain fro doing it.

where did you get this list of things that brands should refrain from? and what is it based on?
