Little sneak peak of an upcoming hoodie design i'm dropping.

Was that originally hand drawn jake?

yeah, here is the sketch

The only thing I'd say for this, is try to keep your letters the same width, and on the same angle.
The L-i, doesn't really match up with the flow in the rest of the letters, and the extension coming off the t looks awkward.

in the sketch the kerning is off, but in the
finished design it isn't. the extension is a lightning
bolt.

I understand that. What I'm saying is the letters don't all fit together cohesively, and it looks weird. I know that the extension is a lightning bolt, the part where it loops off the T on the right side looks un-natural. Maybe post the finished image so I can see what it looks like after rendering?

I don't entirely understand what you are trying to say. The type is based off of a font, and they all go cohesive with each other. You are critiquing it from a side image. The way it loops off, that is how baseball/varsity logos look.

What I'm saying is, you're executing it poorly. At least from what I can see in the original sketch, what you've done doesn't flow properly and doesn't feel right. You don't have to try to justify what you've done, I'm just telling you what I'm seeing. For example. none of your letters are following the same flow, and therefore to me at least if feels completely off. The way that the lightning bolt comes off the bottom of the T isn't balanced with the rest of the word.

You can see it much better like this.

faceless....i see what you mean on the sketch....

the G and H are too far apart, the cross of the T is on an off angle, the L is totally off, the stem of the I G H and T are not aligned at the same angle.

but you can tell from the product pic, that all of that seems to be corrected....the loop connecting the G and H are fixed, the T looks perfect, and the tail lightning bolt flows off the T alot better.

Looks Good.

Word, I wasn't smashing on the final design because i haven't seen it flat out. It most def looks better though. I was just giving my 2 cents on the preliminary sketch.

dude, haha you think we didn't think of that? that is why the sketch is a sketch..
No sketch is perfect, it took about a month to finalize and render the design. We made it look great and fixed up all the revisions.

The finished product came out great, and that's what matters.

Fair enough. For me at least, I can definetly see that some corrections were made in the final design, but because of the angle/ material stretch I can't actually see what it looks like.

"dude, haha you think we didn't think of that?" No, I didn't assume that you'd fixed all of that, because I have no idea who you are, and what type of work you do. Don't quickly jump on the offensive as soon as someone tries to give you some criticism.

i'm always open for criticism, but i was just confused on why you were critiquing a sketch when the design was finished. I mean, of coarse a sketch are gonna have it's faults, it's the sketch and the beggining of the concept. the picture of the sketch was just showing someone who asked if it was hand drawn or not. wasn't really open for critique since the design was already finished.
i appreciate the feedback anyways though.

nope, saying that i already had finished the design so critiquing a primilinary sketch is uselss. with the assumption the revisions are fixed of coarse (which they were)

Sworn Sailor is an ill brand name, and the "S" Crewneck is an awesome take on the nautical theme (which totally gets lost in your preview photos).

Right on.

I'm pretty sure those are custom cut & sew hoodies. that's why they are pricey, but quality is superb!

i printed my hoodies on independent. i'm not sure if Undefeated does, but I know brands like Diamond and Obey do. Truly some of the most comfortable hoodies out there.
