let me add:

#1. starting a brand is a business. Doing what you love is a hobby. Making money (preferably by doing what you love) is a business.

#2. Graphic tees will never die! graphic tees have always been the staple of independent brands. Long after flannel shirts, skinny jeans, snapbacks, and whatever trend is popular now, or was popular for the last 50 years...consumers have, and always will purchase graphic tees.

In terms of doing what you love, which in my case would be 'to create a brand', entails that part of 'achieving' what you love, means incorporating good business. Moreover, if you didn't incorporate the proper business that it takes to be successful as a brand, then you are not achieving and doing what you love. Of course though, this is subjective to myself and others have varied opinions of success/brands/aesthetics/whatever.

Also, I never said graphic tees will die. They never will. I love graphic tees. I believe good brands create TIMELESS clothing that will stay in your closet for years to come. Make authentic, quality stuff that will reflect positivity on your brand and the message you are trying to relay to your audience.

Actually fuck it. Just do you.

The logo

Is it just me or are your mountains(I hope that's what those are) not symmetrical. That makes it look as if you didn't try hard enough. Also, what are the mountains supposed to represent when it comes to creative minds?

I like the name of the brand, but the logo doesn't exemplify it.
Good luck!

Joey
the logo was just a quick design,yes, and the mountains is supposed to represent the barrier that we have overcome to be creative, to be a member of the divisio, but i stil have to work on the letters

creative minds for a not-so-creative logo. agreed, the mmxi shit is boring and I think people just put it there cause they don't know what else to put, lacking originality.

but i mean theres really nothing fundamentally wrong with it, just my personal opinion.
yes the mmx stuff is very used, but the definition of creative depends on the perspective of mind that sees, i cant see any creative aspect on that flash logo, is to much flash gordon, even though it results on your brand name

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to trade info on a legitimate webstore for alstyle or american apparel tees preferably not too expensive ($6.00 max) that someone has experience working with. I have been searching but can't find any place that is not too expensive and I feel like I would trust with my credit card information. Once again, I have some of my own sources that I would be willing to trade. PM me please.

Alstyle where are you buying from?
If you have a tax Id you can always order from Alstyle for wholesale/cost/resell pricing. But even if you don't you can style create a account with them and order.

those survey questions are so vague. your pretty much asking "why do you buy a tshirt" to all different types of audiences. you should be asking more specific questions if you plan on using those answers to determine your target market or somehow make something out of it.

AA is usually high $5.00 to low $7.00 rango depending on where you go. And AAA should be half the price.

i used to buy it from some '99 cent' store back home(CA) for 4 bucks each. now i have to find a new source for them in vegas

i also had a good source for fabric from stores in SF. had a friend who graduated from FIDM and helped out with the sewing and my old teacher has his own screen printing business...but now i have to start from scratch

just putting my constructive critique here, right now it doesn't speak to me, and i think it comes off as pretty plain. it's good to simplify but you have to play around a bit more with shapes and push it past boundaries so it doesn't look like an imitation of the other startup brands who would use an emblem style logo. i say research more logos that look similar to the direction you want your logo to look like and see what commonalities they have and what rules you can break once you know what they are.

i would suggest playing around with the shape of the mountains because it doesn't look like a mountain range, and i think it deviates too far from an abstract mountain range that people still won't see it if you explain to them what it is.

right now it's a good start, and i agree with what jake said, especially the part about it not being fundamentally wrong. maybe if you push it past what's already known your logo might become more eye-catching. like play around with better san-serif typefaces that aren't too common. try not to use that photoshop text tool to warp your words around because it looks amateur. you can google tutorials on how to warp text using photoshop without distorting the shape of the letters. it's kinda late and i don't really know how to explain what better all the shit i've been trying to say, but here's some examples of logos that are also emblem-based

anyway, best of luck on finalizing

Sjohnnn - your site looks plain and your grammar is horrible, i.e;
"This a clothing brand that was originated in California that was started with just and i idea turned into a dream. Bigandmighty was started in 2009 our goal is just to be simple and clean."

That should read like this;
"Big And Mighty is a clothing brand originated in California. From a dream, to an idea, to fruition in 2009 - Big And Mighty has always been about clean lines and simple designs."

Or something to that extend... You can use it if you want, no fees.

extent*
Its funny that you are criticizing him on his grammar but you messed a word up. Just saying that I almost called somebody out on something like that and then I learned they are from Spain and English isn't their primary language.

Haha you got me on that one. His grammar is still horrible, and that is something that would put a lot of people off.
I'm actually puertorican but I speak three languages, so I should get a free pass on that one word lol.

I have come up with a couple of different names for my still-in-the-early-stages brand and wanted to ask what you guys think of this one, "Wolves In Sheep's Clothing", or singular "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing".

I like 'em but I think there's already too much wolf stuff in the streetwear world...
What do you guys think?

Wolf theme is incredibly overdone. I think you can think of a more creative way to describe betrayal, and a more succinct brand name.

Yeah I figured the whole wolf thing was getting out of hand, that's why I asked for your opinions. I do have a couple of ideas that incorporate that theme, so I will have to turn them into shirts at some point.

I don't know If betrayal is the right word Im looking for... More like cunning.
