For the people that "thumb'd down" the hangtag, mind me asking why? I handle criticism pretty well, so please share.

Thanks for your replies. I have seen it before where one post gets countless "thumb downs" and no reasoning behind them. I appreciate your truthfulness.

On the other hand I still support the final outcome. For the font I used "Steiner", which imho its one of the cleanest modern fonts ever created, and it ties with the "modern urban explorer" line.

The motto itself is us, my brother and I, being as honest as humanly possible regarding our passion for what we have created. We are continually "exploring" our dilapidated city of Cleveland and we felt we needed to translate that into the feeling of the "brand".

Hopefully when it's all said and done, you guys will give us a second look.

you can back it up as many times as you want, doesn't change the fact is just doesn't look good. people judge a book by its cover, and you gotta make the cover look good. people won't visually connect with the brand unless the design work is pleasing, and in this case it is not.

^^ you sound like my previous arts teacher. He was in love with the "rules" of art and the whole ideal of 'em. When I asked him if he thought graffiti, which I did as a teenager and still do - although no longer on the streets, was considered artful, he said no. His response was, "Anybody can scribble some stuff on a wall". Just like that. I closed my book, told him "have a nice fucking day" walked out and dropped the class.

I later ran into him at a local arts show where he was selling some of his paintings, to me they felt "flat". Meaning without any feelings. We talked for a bit and he actually remembered me which surprised me. I apologized, not for my outburst but for actually not looking into his background before signing up for the class. If I had, I'm sure I would had found his site and his work, which was just another refurbished idea of what "arts" is to him.

I'm not defending my actions per say, I'm just saying that for every taste, their is a color.

Here are a few of my paintings, just so you get an idea of what I'm into. This work won't translate to the clothing itself, I just wanted you to see them and let me know what you thought. By the way, you do some really cool animal/creature drawings.

Those are actually outside mirror covers from a MINI Cooper JCW, that I painted for a friend. He ended up getting them clear coated and installed them on his car.

Hangtags made... fuck yeaah!

Here's the backside of 'em. Don't want to show the front yet cause the name/logo stuff is on there and we ain't ready to promote it proper just yet. The teal blue looks kinda gray on the pic but way better in person.  And no, the name is not "superior goods" lol.

what makes this font modern. what is a modern urban explorer. does it shop. does it flex at urban malls. or does it explode. what do you mean when you say you and your brother are continually exploring your dilapidated city of Cleveland. what is exploring. why does it even matter that you guys explore. what matters is if your hang tag is cool. this looks like a font used for some trolling. it looks like windows 95 font. it looks like those tumblr posts with obnoxiously bright pink letters on a picture of the beach that says "you can't sit with us cunt~". the term 'urban explorer' is just so frustratingly vague. nobody here really knows what to expect when you feature clothes for the 'urban explorer' like its some new fad people are afraid of taking up because it just looks so unpromising. personally, i thumbed your picture down because this tag is chaotic. you needed to clarify that your brand name wasn't 'superior goods' which was capitalized, the picture wasn't taken clearly so that the teal was shown as good as you claim, font is ugly, cluttered, and obnoxious, makes no good use of the frame because your words overtake the poor thing. in the end it was a failed attempt at fishing for compliments because it actually sucks

^^ on the other hand, here's your brands' about quote:

"A street fashion experiment and a creative outlet, Aeterna SF reflects an intellectual pursuit of the urban aesthetic and attitude through quality product, defiant prints, and mature design".

I guess we are both on the bullshit business...
