What do you guys do when you have a design ready to print, and then later you see a bigger known brand post a preview of the same concept?
This shit happens way too fucking much for me. Prime example, I was looking at old helmet graffiti from the 70's(a family friend that served was showing me his, pretty cool shit) and went "You know what would be cool? An all over pattern shirt of this shit". I put in hours remaking the camouflage pattern they had back then, and was writing up some graffiti for it, trying to figure out what all I wanted(including shit like the BOMB 'EM peace sign and tour calendars or just drug references). I was so fucking hyped. I loved that shit. I felt like I finally had a really cool idea.
Looking up some more images of helmet graffiti for inspiration, I found this shit:
Erik Brunetti had the same idea as me, 3 years earlier. The thing is, I don't even really like Fuct. There was no way I saw this shit a while back and was just remembering it as my own idea.
Streetwear is the largest hivemind I've ever seen. We're all looking at similar places for inspiration, we're all coming to similar conclusions. Shit, I've had ideas that would be in my notebook for months, just to see a big brand(Supreme, if you were wondering) put out a product that was so close to mine, I couldn't put out mine without be accused of biting. The shit's crazy.
Edited for spelling and shit, because I'm a basic bitch.
