Question: Ive done research and I still cant figure this out.

When making a shirt with a celebrity or a published picture on it do you need to get certain rights in order to use the pic??

the short answer is yes, but unless you're realistically big enough for them to notice there's probably nothing to worry about to be honest

Yes. You need permission from the photographer to make money off of their picture. If you use it without permission and don't get caught, then you are fine, If you get caught then you might get in lots of trouble based upon their copyright laws.

Due to the high demand (sold out in 2 hours!), effulgence will be restocking their drop 3 part II hoodies. This is pre-orders only and will run until the end of the week. There needs to be a minimum of 10 orders per design. If minimums are not met, there will be no restocks and I will refund your money. So make sure you tell anyone who is interested so everyone ends up happy =]. Like, share etc this post! I rarely do restocks, so this one is for all my supporters! I thank you and really appreciate the love. http://effulgencesf.com/shop.asp *please allow 2 and a half weeks to receive your hoodie. check the shop to order and for detailed pics.

I wouldn't mind explaining the significance of the name. To be honest, there really isn't a cool story to the name. We actually had a different name for the brand at first, but conflict arose with the look and sound of the original name. We then had a meeting and threw some names around taking into consideration the artwork we had. Finally, we landed on the name and decided to shed some life on the dead word Wilted. We'd appreciate some more feedback and make sure to check us out!

As some of you may know PLNDR is having a Brand Battle through facebook.
My new brand, Gully Steez, entered the contest and is now in 24th place with one of the designs. We need as much help as we can get to push the VOTES up. You can VOTE here: http://bit.ly/yubMTE

All of our shirts are now on the front page...
Our leading shirt the "Children Of The Corner" tee has more LIKES than the leading shirt has VOTES. It was meant to be an awareness tee for poverty and we're donating $5 out of every sale to feedingamerica.org.

If we were to win this contest it would help us spread more good and launch our lifestyle project off the ground.
Please help us spread the word!

haha "swag and snapbacks". that fact that you even used the word swag makes you idiot.
the feedback wasn't revolving around the idea of "swag and snapbacks" but rather how professional the brand looks and its artwork/branding/logos.

its super unprofessional, and the tees suck. i'm assuming the brand is more of a fun thing just to do with your friends though, because you obviously aren't spending any serious $ on it. but as of now it isn't really a "brand". just makes you a guy that sells shirts.

Been debating if I should post in here yet or wait til I get all my ducks in a row first. But I guess feedback wouldn't hurt @ this point.
Brand is Broken Bank Clothing
Brand and logo came about during the whole Bank Bailout thing. I don't want to be just some pop-up, fall off brand.
Most if not all shirts have a witty meaning behind them.
Here are a couple of sample shirts already in production.

The Stealing Made Me Rich and BANK$ & ROBBER$ shirt was supposed to be a shirt pack but the SMMR has been more of a hit, go figure lol

Legal Tender x Angie Varona
One of my favorite shirts. Only did a limited print on these because my wife doesn't want me to wear it.

And here is one I'm in the process of printing right now

Any feedback is welcome. I'm still in the process of getting tags for the shirts.
Website is up, as well as blog and a store. I have the buns just working on the meat and lettuce. Photoshoots and actual product pictures will all be done during springs. I want to have at least 6 designs done before I really try to get out there with advertising.

Woah. Who do we have here? Jake the professional. Thanks for the feedback Jake, we appreciate you taking your time to talk about our brand. Speaking from a professional end, seems like your just throwing your personal opinions out there and claiming them as facts. Quit the assumptions you have yet to see what's coming. My friends and I are dedicated to this brand and we are doing all in our power to make it our image. Not everyone has the $ to explode, but we do have dedication. Not all of us live off our parents that gives us the time to go online and talk trash. We all have to start somewhere. You'll be seeing great stuff coming out of us in the future. We work hard and try our best.

i like that the pockets and everything is done with a different colour thread but that effect is lost on the plaid pattern of the shirt. perhaps if it was one-colour or no white colour in the pattern it would work.

what the fuck man, do you even know who angie varona is? watch this, http://vimeo.com/26789091
i hope you realize you took a stolen picture, stole the stolen picture, then put it on to a tshirt.

my advice is to throw all those shirts away asap for 2 reasons. 1) avoid getting in a lawsuit 2) huge douchebag move.
fucked up.

lol who gives a shit? that's the internet man.

I wouldn't make these into shirts because they look amateur-ish. I think the story behind that girl is pretty awesome, but the shirts need to be pulled off better. They remind me of bootleg/ghettofab stuff you see at flea markets. If you're gonna sink money into t-shirts, take your time with the designs

Dude who made those Angie Varona shirts is such a horrible person. First of all, the shirt sucks; second, you are glorifying the horrible thing that happened to this girl.
I was even considering copping a shirt but I cant support a brand with these kind of morals.
My opinion, that was a bad move. Plus you are trying to make money off of stealing a stolen pic.
Damn...
