American Apparel sizing??

Jul 11, 2010 @ 20:37
How do american apparel tshirts fit? I am 6' tall and usually get a medium or large depending on the brand so what size should I get for an average fit (not too tight, not baggy)?

Also where can I buy online other than the aa website?

Try a large out if you wear medium and don't really want a tight fit. AA t-shirts are a little longer then some other t-shirts are.

i bought a medium, im 5'8, its still kinda long on me.
Medium if your looking for a slimmer(not skin tight just slim) fit overall. it should still be long enough for your height.
large if your looking for a reg fit.

aa can fit pretty weird sometimes. long torso, short sleeves

i'm 6'1, 160. i have a medium in their shirts, but it shrinks like a bitch in the wash, so def get a large.

for hoodies, i have a medium as well, but i wish it was a large.

Try line drying them or maybe your dryer is set to high, so they don't shrink as much or at all

im 5' 8" 145 and the mediums fit me really well not too slim but not long/loose at all

this is after multiple machine washes though

i think aa t-shirts look better when worn tighter than your average t-shirt but definitely pick one size up for hoodies/cardigans/sweaters

im 5'8, and i wear a medium in general tees.

For Their Raglan tees should i size up to a Large or stay at a medium?

Does anyone know if gotapparel.com is legit? They have wholesale aa tshirts for cheap even though aa no longer allows the wholesale of blanks.

Never seen them before, even if their really selling blanks that cheap. Knowing AA banned selling blanks only shows they don't care and their service may be just as bad

If you usually get a medium or large; I'd get a large so there is room for shrinkage depending on what the material the shirt you buy is made of.

i'm 6'0 and i rock a large in AA

I was thinking about getting the 3 pack button ups. Anyone had their button ups? I'm 5'7 about 150 I usually get a medium in most companies. Will these shrink a ton?

all of their stuff fits pretty inconsistently. ive had stuff thats true to size, and stuff that runs small. everything is a slim fit(longer than most brands, but less wide). if your in between sizes id defiantly go with the bigger size.

for me, AA is usually right in the chest but wayyy too long. blah.

Anyone know if alternative apparel fits the same as AA? Mainly their hoodies.

I wanna know the answer for this question, only for the tees. alternatives look like they fit shorter and im tall and slim so thats no good, don't wanna shell out for american apparel shirts tho plus the alternatives look softer and they have the heathered ones.

They cater to skinny hipsters. So a large is really a small

yea, lemme be clearer. Wat i wanna know is if an alternative apparel medium shirt is comparable to an american apparel medium shirt if someone with experience in both can help me out there.

Hey man they are pretty similar. I own my own brand and use AA instead of Alternative Apparel. Check this out.

Alternative Apparel = Weird torso/sleeve sizings, Torsos are too long sometimes. They shrink into strange fits. High arm pit holes. To answer your question, the fit will be close to it except for the above listings. hope that helps

Rock one size up for the hoody's. I usually wear a L, but in AA I get XL.

they shrink but it depends on the material, if you're looking at the oxford shirts they only shrank a bit for me but the chambray shirts shrank quite a bit
