Z I;2489195']Timex? G-Shock? Fossil? If you're not a fan on watches... get those brands. Nixon was on the list too, but their 51-30 collection is definitely a win in my book. I don't think I'll ever buy a quartz movement watch unless it was this watch which also comes in auto.
Audemars Piguet??? It's probably too expensive for most of the people on here and even not on here. If you really want one, open up a savings account dedicated to a high-end watch.
If you like U-boats, but cannot afford one, try these brands:
Sonbol - Miyota automatic movements
Chotovelli - Miyota quartz/automatic movements
If you like Panerais, but cannot afford them, try these brands:
Lum-tec - Various quartz, hand-wind, and automatic movements. (a little more mild on the vintage military casing)
Magrette - Miyota/swiss ETA movements(more like the vintage military casing)
If you like rolexs, but cannot afford them, try:
Steinhart/Debaufre(the same company)- Swiss movements
If you want a brand name swiss watch that is affordable... try:
Hamilton (Best of the 3 imo)
Tissot
Oris
Things that are a plus have the following key words:
Swiss
Mechanical movement (Hand-wind or Automatic)
ETA (Swiss movement maker)
Valjoux (Swiss movement maker)
Unitas (popular hand-wind movement)
If you shop around, you can find a lot of small/affordable watch brands with good movements. Miyota movements are the next best thing to swiss movements.
If you have any questions about watches or would like an opinion on a watch, hit me up.
By the way, I do not own any swiss watches. I spent my money on decent high-quality watches and expensive custom straps by The StrapSmith and Wotancraft. Straps are another addiction next to watches.
