If you want darker gray:

www.sterlingwear.com/cart/index.php?p=product&id=10&parent=1

Sterlingwear is currently contracted by the Navy to handle official peacoats; the ones for civilians are handmade to order in the US for less than the price of most shitty mall places offering inferior product. I can personally vouch for the amazing quality and fit of these. The only downside is that, since they're handmade, you'll have to wait like 3 weeks. Totally worth it though.

Fit pic please? It's really hard to go by the modeled pics they provide on the site. All the guys wearing them look so awkward.

I'm about to pick one up from uniqlo before the SF winter sets in. Kind of annoying they only do phone orders though.

I checked out the peacoats at h&m today. They were definitely nice for the price but right now I feel like Sterlingwear would be more worth it for me if it's the first peacoat I'm going to buy. If I'm a 38, a 40 is good right?

Provided you're done growing, Sterlingwear would definitely be the better choice. They'll literally last forever and will always look good provided you size correctly. I looked at some H&M peacoats a while back and the quality and fit were shitty and they most likely wouldn't last more than a couple of years.

As for the Sterlingwear, if you're "normal" size, a 38 would be fine. They're supposed to be fitted close to the body, that's why they offer the coats by chest size rather than SMLXL. If you're a little larger or want a looser fit, 40 would be fine.

For what it's worth, I'm a 38L in suit jackets and I ordered a 36L and it was waaay too tight (this is coming from someone who likes their stuff slim to begin with). Currently waiting on a 38L which should be coming in soon. Oddly enough, Sterlingwear recommends sizing up 2 sizes from your chest size. Might take some trial and error to get the right size but the quality is so on point it's worth it. You'll literally never need to buy another winter coat ever again.

I read up on styleforum about these coats and people definitely recommend sizing down 1, or at th every least staying tts.
