So my friends birthday party is coming up (girl) and she wants everyone to dress "Nice/Casual".

My clothes are somewhat outdated and I dont have much money.. I also don't really have time to do online shopping since it would take forever for the goods to arrive (Stupid Canadian customs). I can only think of H&M because it's cheap and affordable...

I'm not trying to fit in, but I just don't want to look left out. It would definitely suck lol

I'm thinking sliqs, tee, jacket? not sure about the shoes. All I got are some black chucks.. maybe I can shop around downtown for some Vans?

Don't flame me for this plz lol

if you wear black chucks, some decent denim (sliqs will do), a v neck, and a classy lookin jacket you'll be more than set and look better than most of the kids there

I live in Vancouver, B.C, Canada

we got Dipt, Livestock, Goodfoot etcetc but I'm too poor to buy all those nice stuff (Like the nice denims, kicks)

so therefore, my only option is H&M and maybe some other places..

Well H & M is a store that keeps up with most of the latest trends. They should have a bunch of jackets that are nice and pretty cheap. My advice, check the WDYWT thread in the OFF TOPIC section of this forums, you should get some ideas/inspiration there.

Also check out forgentlemen.blogspot.com

Get some nice Levis and I'm sure the black chucks will be fine.
Get a plain white v neck or crewneck and then a nice cardigan. H&M has some really nice knit sweaters/cardigans this season and I think you can find some for like $40.

So hopefully you can keep your budget at like $100.

Simple, clean and affordable and I'm sure that you'll look better than the majority of kids there. Good luck bro!

Thank you! I do look at the WDYWT, and a lot of the clothes ppl wear are nice but as of right now it's out of my price range (I'll be graduating next year and making $24~$26/hr so by then i'll be fine). I want a change of style... everyones gotta start somewhere ahha

What kinda levis? Is there a specific #(501confused that I should look into? There's a levis store in the mall but the jeans there are mad expensive so i might pass on that for now.

I can possibly ask my parents to loan me some $$$ and then pay them back lol..(sounds desperate though)

A pair of 511's or 510's if you're a slim guy would look great to a more nice/casual event. If you want a pair of jeans that will last, I'd say get the Levis my friend. They look good and they'll last you for a bit.

Urban Outfitters might have a sale on them right now.

If you're down to take the trip there, I'm pretty sure they'll have Levi's and hey...you'll probably find some nice RL Polo button ups/polos for a good price too. And even a nice Polo sweater, check it out!
