Hey guys, got a couple of quick questions I've been wondering about, would appreciate some help

*Are you still supposed to match your belt to your shoes if you are wearing sneakers+cloth belt? As far as I know yes, but I've seen this rule broken in a few publications so not sure sad

*Should a leather belt be paired with sneakers and jeans? Not sure about this one, I guess the leather belt would look too formal compared to the rest of the outfit.. Maybe it depends on how formal the belt looks- like casual leather belt would be ok, but more formal ones would only work with proper shoes+jeans or khakis? sad

Thanks cool

Cloth belts are for ghetto ass *****s, and don't match them to your shoes, you'll look foolish like most all of the black and filipino population in the bay area... And wearing a colored cloth belt will get you into shit in most urban areas.

I wear a leather belt everyday, no over-the-top gay shit like LV, but something standard, plain, classy.
It works with everything tbh.

lmfao at missing him saying 'in formal situations'.

It's fashion 101 to match you belt with your SHOES i.e. brown shoes must be worn with brown belt and black shoes must be worn with black belt. If you break this rule I promise you anyone with even a remotely stylish eye will be laughing at you.

It's ironic that some you are members of a fashion forum yet have no concept of the absolute basics of fashion itself.

I think that's kind of a closed minded way to think about stuff like belts. If I had white trainers on I wouldn't wear a white belt.

If there are any rules for "fashion itself" it should be that you can 99.9% of the time depend on black.

no one will judge or care what belt you wear, none the less see it. generally speaking however, a silver buckle with a black strap / light brown strap.

you should always have a somewhat new dress belt just incase you get your grown man on. you dont wanna be wearing a suit with a beat up belt all stretched out and grimey lookin.
