Stretched out collars? (T-Shirts) Any way to fix them?

Jun 05, 2009 @ 17:45
I'm just asking in general if there is any sort of way to fix a stretched out collar on a regular t-shirt (not like undershirt, printed tee).

[Similarly I've been wondering if there is a way to shrink large collars, I have one or two shirts that have naturally large collars to them.]

Anyone?

You really can't.

Not that I know of, trying to shrink the shirt will deform it even more.

nahh.. your screwed, start smoking junk and incorporate it.

How does the collar stretch anyways?
When I buy shirts the collar fits nice & snug around the neck but after a wash it stretches out.
If the shirt usually shrinks in the washer, shouldn't the neckhole shrink too?

I hate stretched collars...

Nothing you can do to stop it. It happens, even expensive ass wood hangers won't do much but slow it down.

dont hang your shirts on hangers fold them. The End.

Your best bet is to just fold. Thats what ive been doing.

However, it also depends on the quality of the tee shirt.. some brands are thin and stretch easy.

Everything is purple.. my brain is fuckin purple

That sucks, I'll have to start folding my more expensive ones then, that blows.

Super uber way I learned in the University of California State Prison Jamestown.. first make a small slit in collar, then feed elastic type string or floss thru & around collar, tie it to how you want the fit. Then you'll have the most comfortable collar you've ever worn. . Don't forget to stitch up that slit you just made with your homemade shank lol

stretched collars means bad fabric choice by the producer. get rid of it and buy a new one.
