Checked it out in person the other day, the quality is terrible. The sleeves are pleather and the body is some cheap material, definitely not wool. Looks better in their look book that's for sure.
I find it hard to believe that the ransom varsity is poor quality. Ransom is known for their attention to detail and quality, I doubt that they would send something out that is less than satisfactory to their standards. And according to the onandbeyond blog, the sleeves are calf leather.
just my two cents, I trust ransom and will picking one up sometime

This jacket is amazing, but it might not get too much use because this thing is really warm, maybe a bit too warm for LA weather. All black melton wool and calf skin leather sleeves, with foldback cuffs.

leather TOJ = suede body, leather sleeves, goretex backside, wool trim, YKK black zip. Not sure of the format but it won't be MA-1 on the backside this time, something different I guess.
I am thinking like, oil-green colored suede body, black washed lambskin (from the leather jackets) sleeves, goretex body.
