PS4 vs Xbox One

May 22, 2013 @ 14:24:36
So both consoles have been announced and we've seen a bit that both have to offer. My question is which side are you leaning towards?

I'm leaning towards the PS4 side because Ive had all the previous Playstations and the Xbox one TV shit ain't doing shit for me

Waiting for E3, but so far PS4...
May 22, 2013 @ 15:22:53
^ Same. After all the buzz starting calming down, I realized there wasn't much to the One yet (especially after reading this article). Comparing the two, the Playstation left me with more to look forward to. Microsoft's vision for a gaming console is a bit different from what I am looking for.

The PS4 is going to be more of a video game console than a TV, which is basically what the Xbox One is going to be.
Also Ive always preferred Playstation for their exclusives.

All that was running through my head during the reveal of the Xbox One is that they never stated how much all these subscriptions are gunna cost, my bet is that the console will be a lot, but the monthly subscriptions of like £40 ($60) for all these services will leave you with a console that can do this that and the other but you don't wanna pay for all of that, kinda pointless.

I'd get ps4 if they bring back the old Socom in HD
May 22, 2013 @ 17:07:23
I will be getting the Xbox One. Don't see why I should switch consoles since I've been down with XBox since day one(2002). Plus I have 49k gamerscore, why throw that away now. Also, none of the PS exclusives excite me. I don't see the whole fuzz about exclusives either. I think the only exclusive I have for the xbox is Forza. Halo and GoW are cool games but not a fan of them. I prefer BF and even COD over them.

Way too much TV for Xbox and Germans, like me, have nothing from the TV Features.
This Point goes to PS4.

Xbox may have already lost if they're really going through with charging $40 to play a used game on another system.

PS4 is already looking like the better social gaming system. Still free online, the sharing abilities, free mic with every system, etc.

It's a shame their vision of gaming doesn't involve much gaming.

Do you think PS4 is gonna carry on with free online? if so I'm 100% sold

Rumor has it that it will not remain as so. I don't blame them. The PSN has been lagging behind XBL for some time and Sony will need extra revenue to really beef up their service and stay competitive. I thought $50 easily worth XBL, so I'll have no problem paying a similar annual charge. Also, the Playstation Network will probably be renamed to "Playstation World."
May 23, 2013 @ 14:43:11
i imagine psn will remain free but only for basic online. they can't really turn back now and lose that advatange, but they can't not monetize the flashier shit in plus either. stuff like cross chat and cloud saving will def be subscription only/
May 23, 2013 @ 15:29:58
Cant live without buying used games man...I just cant

Btw, the reason why the Xbox will charge a fee is because games are installed onto the HDD and the disc will no longer be required to play. Just know that if the PS quadruple does the same, expect a fee to also be in place.

Don't count victory yet for $ony.

If PS4 makes their online have a fee, I'm going full PC.
May 24, 2013 @ 01:20:24
The ongoing rumor with PS4's online is that they'll have a tiered system....basic online would still be free but the better features like cross-game chat, video sharing, cloud saves, discounts, etc. would require a subscription.

As long as it's optional, I'm good.

screw both of them

imma stick with PC since Elder Scrolls Online is coming out soon.

I could see that happening with the Playstation Plus

That $40.00 fee for a used game crap is more than likely just a dumb rumor. No one is really going to pay $80+ for a used game and microsoft knows that. I think the fee will be some where between $.99-$5.00.

Microsoft wants the used game industry out of the way, so I could definitely see them charging a $40+ fee for a used game, even Sony wanted to do the same but they so far have said that they won't.

So it will be the same as now

As a games machine I'm leaning to the ps4 but when I actually look at what I do I use my 360 as a gaming and tv system equally. Also half my friends list is populated with people watching Netflix, Sky etc rather just pure games. I 'm still far from decided. Got to wait until E3.

Been with the Playstation since number one. Looks like it'll stay that way.
