. If they sell at $400 with a 3-month subscription to PSN+, they make take a loss, but they're moving A LOT of units, which means A LOT of potential game sales.

Having a disc drive is stupid.I highly doubt physical media is going anywhere at least for a very long time. And wireless charging for controllers would be awesome in my opinion.

It's easier to make a backward compatible system if it is software only. I have PSOne and PS2 classics on my PS3, they take up minimal space.his is true, but i think they would be more willing to let someone else go first with having digital downloads only for games before they let it be done otherwise. I am curious to see what they pull off with this one though...

Games are 25GB max(most are less), that's only a few hours on a ~20Mb/s connection, a bit longer if you do it while streaming.multiplatform games are 25GB max. Some PS3 exclusives are already 50GB~. I don't know about you but i do not want to download 50GB games (for space and time purposes). Internet bandwidth caps also make this a stupid idea in America. I have Time Warner Cable so it wouldnt necessarily affect me but asking someone to switch to an uncapped data plan just to download and play games online is unrealistic. even with a 150GB cap some people will hit caps. Average user uses 10GB a month so knock it down to 140.
