so i got one for christmas and just finished testing it out, and anyway after i took the game out and shut off through the main menu, the red light on the ps3 is still on near the start button.im asking because i dont want to leave this thing on all the fucking time.i was only playing for a little bit and the back of the system is hot as fuck.

My friend has an older one too and when I told him that I always shut mine completely off he was like why? he said he leaves his in standby most of the time because he doesn't wanna overuse the switch on the back and break it. I was like it's a switch it's designed to be flipped on/off lol

unplug it. or connect it to a surge protector (which u should do anyways) and flip the switch on the surge protector. or drop it down the stairs. i think that was the easiest answer so far.

Fuh, I would leave mine on for days when I was letting B-Spec do endurance races in GT5. Electricity isn't all that expensive, two floor apt. and we only paid $62 last month. Neither of us are David Suzuki, and we have maybe one CF bulb, the rest are traditional incandescents. That red LED probably won't even add $0.01 to your bill. Loling at people that turn off the switch on their PS3 fats, you people unplug your TVs too?

i hate that the ps3 slims don't have the switch in the back. once in a while my ps3 freezes and i can't turn it off even if i hold down that button. i have to unplug it and shit. fucking hassle.
