I'd have to say Red Dead Redemption; thought I would hate it at first, even tried it at a friend's house and didn't like it. Then I ended up getting it (it only cost me $6 after trading games in) and I love it, still gotta finish it up though.

^Primarily an expansion but I think you can buy it as a standalone game without having to own/have played RDR.

Scott Pilgrim the game was so tight, i didn't read the comics and i haven't seen the movie either, but i loved the game. They really got that old, beat-em-up style down. The soundtrack was on point too.
