Good luck man. The older the phone the longer it will take to get 2.2. Newer phones have priority.
You might be able to root with 2.2 though.

search the market for a web browser called "Skyfire" and you can watch some flash videos on there.What I did was email myself some links where I could watch soccer games and I would watch games using that browser.
For example, during the world cup, Univision's website would stream the games live and I would watch them while I was on the go. The browser itself is pretty smooth too. Only downside is that I havent found a way to choose which flash video you want to watch if there are multiple flash objects going on.

also, another app that i love that i think u guys should try out is Photobucket Mobile.

you can put the settings as whenever u take a picture, it'll automatically upload to your photobucket account. shits legitttt

and u do realize that all phone pics put in the location of where they are taken?

QFT! this phone is amazing. i have been playing with it for the last 12 hours(except for a 3 hour mw2 break). it is utterly fucking AMAZING!

you do realize that you can easily turn geotagging OFF? luckily for me, on the new evo, it's automatically set to off.

Tmobile needs some new Androids the Samsung Vibrant doesn't cut it for me, I feel like the Evo and Droid X/Incredible are so much cooler looking.

some apps i have found useful.

astrid task - really sweet to do list manager.

fx camera - gets more out of your phones camera. i can definitely see the differense in my pics.

photoshop express - extremely easy photo editor. (outdoor pics i find need no touching up when taking pics through fx camera)

sports tap - all the sports news you can handle.

bump - fist bump two phone together to transfer files. its pretty cool.

double twist - music player, syncs with itunes.

timeriffic - set my phone to a customizable sleep mode.

yeah like 10x faster. i've had it for two weeks now and i can honestly say i haven't experienced any lag. runs really smooth

i'd tell you to get it but you should just wait for the G2. it's coming soon

There's all kinds of info on what has worked and what hasnt.. I'm getting all the info I need to try later tonight hopefully. I have a G1 so I'm hoping it will work just like everybody says.
