My old 360 doesn't read discs. Anyone know how to fix it?

Is it doing a weird grinding noise?

No grinding noise. It justs takes a long time reading the disc, but won't play it and then it'll say to insert a disc.

I don't have xbox live gold so I'm pretty much buying offline games :\

Man xbox repairs are so bullshit. Sent in my 360 after if finally RROD'd after a couple of years, and the xbox i get back RROD's as soon as I press the power button.

Lucky i got sc2 to fall back on while I wait again.

^^ just buy a new xbox, then bring ur old broken xbox to a mod place and have them switch ur internals, and glue the stickers and serial numbers back on properly, then return the item to which ever store, preferably some target/walmart/kmart type place. just make sure u wait around 2 months to return so it gives enough amount of time to account for the amount of dust in ur old xbox insides to not bring suspicion.

You'd might as well send it to Microsoft for $50 bucks more, get it repaired and then have a warranty so in case it happens again, it's free.

I have the same problem. I just sit there for 5-10 minutes tapping A until it works.

I'll try it again..this has happened to me twice before and it usually goes away after awhile of putting in different games but this time no luck.

I kept pressing A when the open tray popped up like 20 times and nothing.

Hmmmmm interesting. It has worked for me so far.

The reason for that "open tray" problem is because the laser gets out of placement.

I guess your best bet right now is to have get it fixed.

Don't bother sending it microsoft unless you still have warranty.

Fuck this baby console. The majority of xbox owners are a bunch of 6-years-old. I'm fed up with the crying and whining. I'm fed up with having to double tap A so my xbox works. I'm selling this fucking piece of trash and using that money towards repairing the PS motherfucking triple!
