Well I got my PS3 jailbroken via geohot's simple 3.55 update method, but as of now,i haven't read of being able to run backups, but I'm sure it'll be soon. All I got installed is an FTP client and probably gonna get some emulators & roms.

yeah i used the pre-patched UPDATE.PUP file. my ps3 was already on 3.55 so i had to restart it into the service menu then install the updated file from usb thumbstick. took like 2 minutes and now i'm jailbroken. I then installed Rogero Backup Manager and it actually recognized 4 old games that I copied onto my hdd back when I first used the jailbreak.

i really just did it to see if it works since the old games i copied don't work correctly anymore with the new managers tongueface

Anyone know if their's going to be a price drop soon on the PS3 bluetooth headset?
$50.00 is on the pricey side.

There's a couple of new methods or custom firmwares that have been uploaded within the last few days, so I'm going to try one of those. Some people have already been playing online with their bootlegs/copied games! So im sure if/when Sony does something bout it, theyll probably get banned or something?!!
I really want to just backup games that I may want to buy like Assassin's Cred: Brotherhood, GT5, etc.. games that I just want to try out to see if I even like it?!! Thats what I did with my PS2, I had a huge library of games and only played online with REAL game discs. But whatever... I'll probably get banned or something too just for having custom firmware, regardless of using copies or not.

Modern Warfare already fucked by the hackers...

Any bluetooth headset will work for ps3 too. I got one online for $20 with a $20 mail in rebate. Circuitcity and newegg have deals like that some times.

Honestly that's probably the only way they could slow down/stop piracy. That's what ea implemented for online access and it probably helped

I got my backups working on my PS3:
Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 1 & 2, Castlevania, FIFA 11, and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. So far so good..
If Sony starts banning, IDGAF, I got an old school 60gb with support for the PS2 games on side, just suffering from the YLOD, I'll just use that.
Serial keys I guess is one good way to slow down piracy, etc.. but look at all the software available that requires serial keys & registration! How easy is it to get a program like Adobe CS5.. AutoCAD.. ANY game, etc working on your PC?!!
