i was gonna upgrade my blackberry to new bold 9650 for verizon. now tht i saw this, ima do a 180 and get this shit. iphone 4g specs cant compare to blackberries now

edit: wondering how crazy will the pre sale is going to be. is it only at the apple website and will i need to stay booked on the computer and hope i can order one at 12AM?

^ I was just coming in here for that -- apparently I was mistaken with the $199/299 thing on the 16/32 versions. It would appear that the no contract price is gonna be around $699 -- so maybe the UK doesn't have it so bad.

U will be able to order it no matter what... There isnt a sell out point on pre order.. Only thing will happen is u will get it when they get to your order whereever u are on the list.. Just like the ipad, people didnt get theres until a week after the store release which was stupid cause u could have just gone to the store and got it... So im just going to the store on release day to get it!

How does internet work if you're buying the phone with no contract?


Two options.

Buy straight from att @ a very expensive $$$ or ebay.

For ebay option I know that you don't need to op-in for internet (data plan) and save that $30/month. But I think 99% of people who has an iphone has internet. However you can use the phone with wifi.

In theory is worth it to get the iphone under contract for $199 (4g) or $99 (3gs) then pay for the data.

If u pre order, u are put on a list... So say the first batch for pre order is ready ship and u arent on that list then u will just have to wait til the next batch ships which is usually a week later.. Reason i said there is no real point in preorder cause there is a chance u will have to wait for yours to be shipped after the store release...

Couple other cool features in my opinion are the app. folders and the home drop box thing! I ready put my apps. Together on one page but this makes it easier and organized.. And the drop home box thing is cool cause it doesn't go back to home, it just drops down from what u are using...

Lol of course you still have to pay for the phone, they're just covering the upgrade fee.

If att's service didn't suck and the plans weren't so expensive I'd switch over and get this. But I get so much more for what I pay for tmobile than I would get for the same price with att.

as stated earlier... any contract that ends anytme in 2010, will automatically be eligable for the upgrade. if it isn't listed on your account, just wait and it will be or just call customer service
