Here is our first look at the awesome Gears of War 3 Retro Lancer replica from NECA revealed today by Epic Games. The Lancer will be available exclusively through GameStop. The gun was designed after the same 3D data used by Epic in the game including its weathered effects. The Lancer is over three and a half feet in length and makes machine gun sound effects. It will be available in several pre-order bundles or as a standalone product for $99.99 available on September 13, a full week before Gears of War 3 launches on September 20.

From playing the beta, it seems like they fixed all the complaints with GOW 2 and implemented them into GOW 3. Hopefully it stays that way once the full game releases.
The developers of Gears of War 3 want it to be the perfect Gears game for newcomers to the series. Even though it's the third entry, it should be the easiest to pick up and play, they say. To that end, they're implementing an exclusive "casual" mode for Gears of War 3 multiplayer that can only be accessed by people who have never played Gears before.
If you have any achievements from Gears 1 or 2, or if you played the Gears of War 3 beta, you cannot access the Casual multiplayer mode. Casual players will be granted aim assist, but no other details about the mode were given.
