So, my 360 yet again has a problem with it for like the 4th time. I need to send it in but they won't repair it for free cause it has 2 red rings and it only covers 3 rings now. Whenever i play a game, it overheats but i can watch movies for hrs without it overheating. someone tell me whats wrong with this fckin system and what i can do to fix this problem.

Have you tried installing the games to the hard drive?

not at all, im sure it will overheat while attempting to do this. Whenever a game is inserted, at least maybe 2 min in, it will overheat. But for a movie, never. Intercooler does not help whatsoever.

Well once they are installed it doesn't take as much effort (wrong word I know) for the xbox to play it but if you can't even install them without it overheating I dunno what you should do.

30% failure rate - for sure you'll get more lucky people, but its a high stat

why don't you try forcing 3 rings? there should be overheating methods on google...

Honestly, run the damn thing into the ground. Disable the Auto Shutoff in the Settings, and let it play something for hours on end. I got a E74 error from it overheating (MW2 launch, atleast 10+ hours without turning off), and disconnecting a connector on the motherboard. They cover E74 and RROD for free, so what's the worst that can happen?

As stated already, get a PS3 mannnn... 3D capabilities coming soon too - but that does mean you'll need a 3D capable TV.

Then what's the point of recommending 3D? Haha.

Last attempt guys. My bro is gonna go buy an elite and i think he should just wait.
Any attempts to run it into the ground or force it to get RROD. I wrapped it in a towel, but it only overheats every 5 min.

i saw that u said it get TWO red rings, and not 3. this happened tome all tha time. there's too much dust in tha air filter, TRUST ME... it used to happen to me all tha time. ur best best is to take it apart and vacuum out all tha dust. ever since i did it it's never overheated on me

It depends if you break the sticker, check youtube on how to remove the warranty sticker. Once you reassemble it, put the sticker back on and you'll be good to go.

Ive sent my box in twice. Neither for red rings. POS system.

I just open it up and fix it myself now cause my warranty was void anyways.

I say cop a PS3.

update: opened the face plate and took off one side, the gray thingy. Built up dust over time collected. Cleaned that out, and so far it's working perfectly now.
