I returned my beats and got these, BEST DECISION EVER! I saved a $120 and these sound sooo much better. the difference is night and day! I will say however that these are very accurate headphones so you will hear everything which is not always a good thing lol. I can hear dre whispering shit to em throughout the marshal mathers LP lolol. Also being that these headphones are of studio quality and accuracy, dont expect any sort of bass boost or anything like that.

God damn, I am so glad HB has a thread like this!!

I can't wait till I save up enough money to get myself a pair of Westone 4's (maybe 3's?...). Ah, last summer... I probably went through about 20 different pairs of headphones just experimenting with them, Denon D5k's, to a pair of JH Audio JH-13's (Don't think I have heard anything so good as them). Unfortunately, and fortunately, I became obsessed with Raw denim, and pretty much bought and sold a ton of raw denim, and liquidated my headphone collection and ever since December I have been saying how badly I am in need of a new pair of headphones, but since the Samsung stock headphones have been satisfying my cravings I never actually saved up for a new pair.. Then I got a camera, and now I want to upgrade lenses as well, haha. But my samsung headphones are broke now

, so I am putting saving up for a lens aside!

Anyways you guys will probably say tl;dr for that. Now, I have a question, I am wanting to get back into headphones, BUT I need help choosing the right one. I am more than positive I want to try out a pair of Westone 4's (have owned the 3's already), but may even take the 3's again. Either way does anyone know of good suggestions other than Westone that pack tight bass, clear highs and mids? I don't want 'bassy' headphones, but I want nice tight controlled bass. I just want to know what else has come out this year that is relatively newer and has that type of sound.

Thread needs a bump... These came in the mail today, was fucking pissed off since they are from amazon, not UE. That seller is getting a neg on ebay, as he clearly stated they were BRAND NEW IN ORIGINAL PACKAGING, not REPACKED in amazon box. I am burning them in, and if I don't like them, then I will either trade them or re-sell them to eventually get a pair of Westone 3's.

Just picked up a pair of XB700's. For the price I really like em.

On a side note. Xb700's > Beats

The bass is so much cleaner on the XB700's whereas on the Beats it just interferes with everything else and makes it sound like a jumbled mess.

Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80ohms. you wont be disappointed. get a cmoy amp too.

Headphones or IEMs? Headphones for a similar price range as the Beats I would look into Denon, Ultrasone, or Audio technica. IEMs I would highly recommend Westone, or shure.
